Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. Her first release was funny, well-written rap songs that addressed topics like race and sexuality. Later, she broadened her fan base to Hollywood. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrant parents within Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was through trumpet. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop in her teen years. When she was in college, she focused on her studies and majored both in women's study and journalism. For a brief period during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. Not until after graduation did her focus shift to music. After becoming famous on the Internet, her track My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. Some other hits that went viral included queef, a body positive track, and the witty NYC Bitchecity tour. The last track was linked directly to Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was released in the year 2015. She opted to pursue acting careers after having completed her two previous endeavors, author and musician. In addition to early shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also featured in movies such as Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered a number of breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's Eight or Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP,"In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
