Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. Bell is born in 1980 and is a Michigan native born and raised by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) as well as Tom Bell (a TV news director). Her birthplace was in Michigan's Huntington Woods, to an Polish mother and a father who is German, English Irish, Scottish, and Irish. Kristen's talent for entertainment was found at a young age. She was able to land her first role at her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell was contacted by an agent by her mother at the age 13 and she was subsequently hired as a model on advertisements on television and newspapers. In addition to having private lessons in acting, she launched her career at that time. Bell was as a guest in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998 as an uncredited actor. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School, where she was a member of the musical and drama clubs. The school's show of The Wizard of Oz, Bell was cast as Dorothy. Bell studied in musical theater at the highly regarded Tisch School of the Arts located in New York City after graduating. Bell was a graduate in 2001, resigned her university studies to perform her role as Becky on Tom Sawyer. In 2001, it was also that Bell's first appearance in a film that was credited to her, Pootie Tang (2002). However, her part was cut and only the credits display her. The year 2002 saw her first major role. Bell made an appearance on The Crucible, a Broadway version of The Crucible with Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
